Ladies, I think we all love to be night owls, but I for one do not get too much accomplished this way! I know if I chose to go to bed early, then woke up by 9 am, I could increase my productivity for the day. Why no more insomnia hours for me?
1. It gets my days and nights mixed up!
This creates a pattern and one cranky chica–me!
2. No one is up at 2 am…well almost no one!
The point is, I cannot call customers at 2 am. 10 am? Yes! Too bad usually I am still in bed…
3. I tell myself I will still get up early tomorrow.
YEAH RIGHT!
4. I get started late in the day, just enough time to eat, check e-mail, shower and go to work.
This creates a day that feels like all I do is work. So then I come home and want to stay up in order to feel like I am not only working. Vicious cycle!
This is my last late night (after 2 am) post. I will be going to bed by 2 am from now on. I will leave Night Owl’s Nook, but I will most likely be on there only for 30-45 min a night. Must fight the late night addiction!!!
Think I am leaving you high and dry? No way! I will be starting the COFFEE CLUB!

I vow to be on, ready to chat, each morning at 9 am. Yes, I realize this is still “late”. But not for me! It is a vast improvement for me. I will start my day with chatting/coffee from 9-10 am, then working out from 10-11 am. Showered and ready by noon. Then (since I work at 3:30 pm), I will have a few hours to: get out fishbowls, call leads, do appts, clean house, read my bible, do school work (during the fall semester). Yes, this is my new plan. See you at coffee club!

You’ve got a great plan–I noticed some of your posts were at 3 or 4 a.m. (which is probably EDT for me) I know how you feel about the feeling of only being at work. I have that problem, too. I get up at 5:30 or 6:00 a.m. I have to leave my house no later than 7:00 a.m. to get to work by 8:00. I work until 5:00. It takes me an hour to get home and then it’s time to make dinner. After dinner I have to clean it all up. By the time that’s all done, it’s 8:00! It is hard to schedule my MK business into the week, so I talk it up at the office.
It works! But, if you’re on in the morning, I’m on here all day because I’m strapped to a phone from 8-5 and there’s not much to keep me occupied than the world wide web!

I also think this is a good plan. I did get up this morning but made business calls first before going on the computer to surf! I am so proud of myself. My usual is coffee and computer first. So this was a change and because of it, I accomplished something. I made a sale, although not huge, a sale just the same!

New to Pink: My insomnia is raging on! I tried to hit the hay at 3:30 (better than 5 or 6…) and still tossed and turned, waking up every hour until about 7 am. I am missing our talks and not staying on task. Maybe I’ll have to get some sleeping pills but I hate to alter myself with medication. Just my personal opinion that meds do not get to the root of the prob.

P.S. Have fun at the beach!!!! B)

MK: I know your pain! I was an insomniac for years! I think it started when I was about 6 yrs old. Part of the problem was my schedule. I went to school, then I danced at night (ballet!
) and came home late and stayed up doing my homework. By the time I had to go to bed, my second wind was kicking in. I averaged around 4 hours of sleep each night. Anything under 5 is considered insomnia. I also did not want to resort to sleeping agents. One thing that helped me was an ambient cd. It played synthesized “music” that was very soothing and put me to sleep. Another thing that worked was Yoga–I recommend Cruch Series: Candleight Yoga. Finally, I have Celestial Seasonings “Sleepy Time” Tea. That helps, too, but I have to drink it at least an hour before I plan to go to bed. Those are my “sleep remedies”!
My insomnia has been coming back. It was gone for a few years. I think stress has a lot to do with it, too. But I’m about to whip out the sleepy time tea and do yoga every night once again…:)

Oops! that should be Crunch Series: Candlelight Yoga.
Sorry for the typo!

Hey, all! Well MK, if your insomnia hits tonight, holler at me. I know it will be a late night for me since I like to pre-pack everything. I just want to get in the car and go when the kids get home tomorrow. I am sure I will be doing some laundry or something tonight last minute as usual.
I too do not like to use anything (OTC or RX) to go to sleep. However when I am desperate, Excedrin PM works better for me than Tylenol PM. If you don’t want the acetominophen (sp?) Unisom has the same amount of Diphenhydramine (sp?) which is what makes you sleepy.
Does your hubby get up early in the mornings or does he have late JOB as well? When I am trying to get back on schedule, I get someone (usually hubby or BFF) to wake me up and make sure I actually get outta bed and get some coffee. (I am spoiled, I know.) Once my feet are on the ground, I am up. No naps, even if you are really sleepy. Usually if they wake me, then I can get to bed earlier that night and it’s easier for me to fall asleep. I just love sleeping in, but yet hate it, too.

Well–I’m not sure if I can fit into the coffee club! I’m more about the rise at 5 club that Mary Kay started! Up at 5am for computer time, paperwork, 6 most important lists, starting laundry, dishes, workout and shower by 7am. Then the kids and hubby are up and I get everyone off to school. Walk for 45minutes with friends and errands for the day, housework, or whatever! I nap at 2:00 for 30 minutes and when the kids hit the door-snacks, homework, dinner, sports, etc. Phone calls on Sundays 7-9. Classes when I can, facials in the day! That is it~

pinkmomof3 ~ I wish I could be more disciplined to get up that early. The hubby is great to me and gets the kids off to school in the morning, but then I get the late shift (after school and homework, etc.) It’s a great trade for me since I love to sleep late. We are starting a new trend though. He is going to wake me between 7:30 & 8:00 to help me get in the habit of “early to bed, early to rise”.
You never know though. Maybe other blog members are members of the 5:00 Club and can meet you here.

Morning! Got my coffee and stopped in. I have a lot to do today. We leave for the beach at 2:00! Woo Hoo! I am so psyched about going.
