Thanks again to our reader “Anonymous” for this awesome Lead-free Lipstick Promotion!
Seeing all the news about lead in kid’s toys and lipsticks on CNN, Anon. decided that it would be a good idea to let her customers know that MK’s lipstick does not contain lead and sell some inventory at the same time! She put together an email saying so, without naming the other companies who do contain lead. This is key! We don’t want to put down other companies to lift ours up.
Her promotion goes like this:
–>If your client brings you a lipstick of another brand which MAY (never say that does) contain lead to exchange it for a new MK lead-free one, she has given them 50% off the new ones in order to clear her inventory before the new colors arrive. What a great idea!
You could do the discount however you like…buy one, get one free, certain percentage off, buy one, get a free eyeshadow, etc. Her email is in the filebox on the right hand sidebar of the blog. Just change the promotion to read how you would like, then fill in your contact info, and TA-DA! Instant lipstick sales! (Of course you may want to follow up with phone calls if you don’t get a big response…)
Do you think you will utilize this promotion?

Awesome idea…and with great timing! The part I love is that by having them “trade in” their other lipsticks, you know they’ll have to use MK instead!
I’m going to include this promo in my newsletter….thanks ladies!

Hey Sabrina – You do a client newsletter? Do you mail it or email it? How long have you been doing it and how many clients do you send it to?

I email it….I actually got the idea from one of MK Rules’ posts and I send it to all of my clients that have email addresses. Its several pages long and in color, so its not in my budget quite yet to print and send it by mail! hehe. November will actually be my 3rd month sending it!

First, kids dying from lead in toys. Now, they find high levels of lead in lipsticks. What’s next – lead in food? Are women going to start dying now too from using lipstick too much?
Freaky!
There’s a detailed report about it at http://www.myproductalert.com/lead-in-lipsticks.html
