Sometimes the desire to work your business can be like a roaring forest fire…you can’t wait to share MK with everyone you touch. At times, someone can put your fire out with harsh words or criticism. But then, what do you know…along comes a good Samaritan with kind words who believes in you, and your fire has been lit again! Continue reading
Ladies, last night I was reading Shades of Pink’s blog post about Veteran’s Day. Someone (The Myst?) mentioned you can adopt soldiers on Anysoldier.com. So I went to check it out…
Soooo many of the soldiers in Iraq requested Christmas items and personal hygiene items such as shaving cream, suncreen, and lip balm, as well as some snack type items. I have a soft spot in my heart for the soldiers who do not recieve packages while on a tour of duty, not just at Christmas, but especially during that time. My husband was stationed there for a year and the only things he recieved were from me personally, a few letters from his grandma, and a lady who had adopted him. None of his other family members even sent a letter.
So I have a plan that I am already spreading the word about at my work: Stockings for Soldiers! Stuffed with MK shaving cream, suncreen, and lipbalm! Continue reading

“Trick or Treat”
I remember the first time I was allowed to go out trick-or-treating on Halloween night with just my friends. (Of course I’m sure my Dad was following along at a safe distance but he’ll neither confirm nor deny that accusation!) Our mission was a singular one – get as much candy as possible in the shortest amount of time. In other words, I wanted my big plastic orange pumpkin overflowing with goodies.
We literally ran from house to house as we scoured our neighborhood intent upon our goal. On occasion, we approached a house, rang the bell, and nothing happened. The lights were on but no one answered the door. Continue reading

You are Worthy Author Unknown
“Do not undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others.
It is because we are different that each of us is special.
Do not set your goals by what other people deem important.
Only you know what is best for you.
Do not take for granted the things closest to your heart.
Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.
Do not let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past nor for the future.
By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.
Do not give up when you still have something to give.
Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.
Do not be afraid to encounter risks.
It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.
Do not shut love out of your life by saying it is impossible to find.
The quickest way to receive love is to give love;
The fastest way to lose love is too hold it too tightly;
In addition, the best way to keep love is to give it wings.
Do not dismiss your dreams.
To be without dreams is to be without hope;
To be without hope is to be without purpose.
Do not run through life so fast that you forget not only where you have been, but also where you are going.
Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way.”

Fearless By Unknown
“There’s nothing to fear, you’re as good as the best,
As strong as the mightiest, too.
You can win in every battle or test;
For there’s no one just like you.
There’s only one you in the world today;
So nobody else, you see,
Can do your work in as fine a way:
You’re the only you there’ll be
So face the world, and all life is yours
To conquer and love and live:
And you’ll find the happiness that endures
In just the measure you give;
There’s nothing too good for you to possess,
Nor heights where you cannot go:
Your power is more than belief or guess
It is something you have to know.
There is nothing to fear, you can and you will.
For you are the invincible you.
Set your foot on the highest hill
There’s nothing you cannot do.”
Did you know even smiling can be go-give? 🙂 Even if you feel you have nothing to give to others, everyone can give a smile. This is from Life of Hope.com.
The Value of a Smile by Francie Baltazar-Schwartz
“The value of a smile is priceless, yet it is the cheapest, easiest, most rewarding and most sincere gift to anyone that crosses your path. A smile makes a person’s day, anybody’s day even a stranger’s day. A smile is infectious. Start infecting people with your smile today.
A smile is nature’s best antidote for discouragement. It brings rest to the weary, sunshine to those who are sad, and hope to those who are hopeless and defeated.
A smile is so valuable that it can’t be bought, begged, borrowed, or taken away against your will. You have to be willing to give a smile away before it can do anyone else any good.
So if someone is too tired or grumpy to flash you a smile, let him have one of yours anyway. Nobody needs a smile as much as the person who has none to give.”

Good Things Will Come Author Unknown
“There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren’t the way you had hoped they would be.
That’s when you have to tell yourself that things will get better. There are times when people disappoint you and let you down.
But those are the times when you must remind yourself to trust your own judgments and opinions, to keep your life focused on believing in yourself.
There will be challenges to face and changes to make in your life, and it is up to you to accept them.
Constantly keep yourself headed in the right direction for you. It may not be easy at times, but in those times of struggle you will find a stronger sense of who you are.
So when the days come that are filled with frustration and unexpected responsibilities, remember to believe in yourself and all you want your life to be.
Because the challenges and changes will only help you to find the goals that you know are meant to come true for you.
Keep Believing in Yourself! “
