This is the second post in the new series, “What Would MK Ash Do?”. Please feel free to comment on what you think MKA would do regarding aspects of our business. These are my thoughts as to how her philosophies would affect booking, selling, and recruiting.
MKA has been quoted as saying, “Honesty is the cornerstone of all success, without which confidence and ability to perform shall cease to exist. “
How does this quote relate to booking?
Q: Would MKA use honesty when booking? Continue reading
MKA always said: Pretend everyone has a sign around her neck that says “Make me feel important”.
How this relates to recruiting:
Q: Would MKA try to recruit each customer right up front, even if she had no interest in starting a business?
A: No. MKA would know that this would NOT make the customer feel important. Despite our own goals, we must see everything throught the eyes of our customers if we are to succeed. I think MKA would discuss the business lightly with the customer up after one or two appointments to observe how the lady feels about starting as a consultant. Continue reading
Ok, so maybe I took a peek at the “dark side” of MK blogs. Thanks for the idea for a great post anti-mkers!
“Pinkisthenewblack”*(correction) says about positive MK blogs, “After all, they could have awesome information to help people build their “business” but in the long run who wants to hear it from consultants who aren’t even directors? I mean, what exactly IS their authority based on? having too much time on their hands and a computer connection?”
MK Rules no longer posts there. Too much drama. However, I feel the need to address this one here on my blog. Continue reading
This story came from my director in her monthly newsletter. I don’t know if she originated the story, but think about this:
On my way home one day, I stopped to watch a Little League Baseball game being played in a park near my home. As I sat down, I asked one of the boys what the score was. “We’re behind 14 to nothing”, he answered with a smile.
“Really?” I said. “I have to say you don’t look very discouraged.” Continue reading
Barbara Whitaker reminded us that “energy flows where attention goes”. What is taking all your attention and energy? Could you better put that energy and attention to use elsewhere in your life? If we want our energy to be put into booking, holding, and selling–we need to put our attention there. Life will always happen. We can choose to put our energy into rehashing a bad event of the day or we can have a good attitude anyway! (Maybe that can be on your BIDIA list?) We must be on purpose and go after what we want to flourish. Where is your energy and attention going?
From NSD Christine Peterson, “So that was what happened last week, what are you gonna do THIS week?”. Those are simple, but powerful words! Thinking about the past is dangerous. It can keep us “stuck” and make us feel like we are powerless to move forward. However, when we only look ahead and think of the action that we are going to take, then apply our past experiences to tweak that action, we begin to see progress. So what is your answer Christine’s powerful question?
